Sponsorship Requests
The Office of the Provost is pleased to sponsor initiatives that advance Emory University's academic mission. Please consider the guidelines and steps below before requesting sponsorship.
Eligibility
Priority will be given to initiatives that demonstrate the following:
- Collaboration across schools or units
- Co-sponsorship by additional university units
Eligible expenses include:
- Facilitator/trainer fees
- Honoraria, speaker fees, and travel costs
- Educational materials
- Reasonable operational costs
Please note that funds received from the Office of the Provost may not be used for the following:
- Political campaigning
- Individual projects
- Catering
Requirements
- Applications from faculty and staff will only be reviewed if they have received endorsement and/or support from the appropriate academic dean or executive leader.
- Applications from students, postdoctoral fellows, and other trainees will only be reviewed if they have been endorsed by a faculty member.
- Requests for ongoing or recurrent commitments will be directed to the university budgeting process for the appropriate school, academic unit, or administrative unit.
- Faculty, students, and staff are assured of participation in university programs and in the use of facilities in accordance Emory University's Equal Opportunity and Discriminatory Harassment Policy.
Application
To apply for sponsorship from the Office of the Provost, please follow these steps:
- Get endorsement/support for this initiative from the dean of your school or leader of your unit (faculty and staff) or a faculty member (students, postdoctoral fellows, and trainees).
- Prepare a proposal describing the initiative (no more than 3 pages; upload as a PDF in completing the online application).
- Download and complete this budget form.
- Complete the online application, using the form link below.
- Awardees will be required to review and agree to the administration and reporting guidelines listed below.
All complete requests will be reviewed within two weeks and will receive a timely response.
Administration and Reporting
Recipients of funding from the Office of the Provost will be required to:
- Provide a speed type to which funds can be transferred.
- Include the credit line, "Supported [in part] by the Office of the Provost," on all marketing materials and provide requested information about the initiative.
- Share promotional materials, including related online links, with the Office of the Provost for possible posting on the Office of the Provost calendar and website.
- Within 4 weeks following the event/program, provide a brief report (no more than 500 words) describing the event and its impact.
