Dear Members of the Emory Community,

I am pleased to announce that Karen Sedatole will serve as the interim dean of Goizueta Business School, effective May 30.

Professor Sedatole joined Emory as a Goizueta Advisory Board Term Professor of Accounting in 2017 and has eagerly and effectively contributed to Goizueta’s academic landscape by serving on the Personnel and Executive Committees for the school. Her research includes innovative research on executive compensation, performance evaluation, reward systems, performance measures, and interorganizational collaboration and emphasizes interweaving human behavior with business analytics and processes.

As the interim dean, Professor Sedatole will continue work in areas to strengthen Goizueta’s offerings and reputation, including strategic planning and communications, ensuring the sustained scholarly prowess of the faculty, fiscal management and planning, bolstering the robust academic offerings, and advancing the school’s alumni engagement and philanthropic goals. Professor Sedatole will continue to collaboratively engage with colleagues across the university, particularly as we all work towards solutions and responses to COVID-19.

Prior to joining Goizueta Business School, Professor Sedatole was the Russell E. Palmer Endowed Professor of Accounting at Michigan State University. She has a BS in Engineering from Baylor University, an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, and a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.

Please join me in thanking Karen for demonstrating her commitment to Emory at this important time.

Sincerely,

Jan Love
Interim Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
