Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award
Vulcan Materials Company sponsors the Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award, which recognizes an outstanding faculty member who demonstrates strong academic skills in the classroom and provides leadership and support in other areas of campus life. The recipients are faculty who assist institutions in nurturing an academic climate that fosters teaching and who provide leadership to enhance the campus community.
The award is open to any full-time faculty member. Things to consider in nominating a faculty member are classroom effectiveness, innovation in teaching, and engagement outside of the classroom with student groups and campus life.
Please submit one (1) nominee from your School or College who exemplifies this standard by sending the name of the faculty member, a link to the faculty member’s bio, and a brief, one to two paragraph explanation to Tiffany Worboy (tworboy@emory.edu) by the deadline listed in campus-wide communications.
Award recipients receive a framed certificate at the diploma ceremony of the school where the faculty member's primary appointment is housed. The recognition also comes with a monetary award of $2,000.
